Alaska (experimental)

        The Alaska fall foliage map is an experimental product. Due to the state's high latitude, the underlying prediction model is different than the model that generates all other maps on ExploreFall.com. During Fall 2025, all Alaska maps should be considered preliminary and are prone to change at any time. As of August 12, 2025, the only known issue is runaway fall color in high elevations, particularly in southern Alaska. These areas are primarily barren and snow covered, and the erroneous model predictions result from a lack of training data.
